Our experts have collated our five top fundraising ideas that are ideal for schools below:
1. Bunny bounce
Jump into your Easter fundraising with a bouncy castle. Bounceathons can be a hugely successful fundraising activity for schools. It couldn’t be easier for pupils to set up their own sponsorship pages under the umbrella of the school’s fundraising campaign and get sponsored to see how many jumps they can complete in one minute.
Last year, one school in our community raised over £5,000 (257% of their target) with a bounceathon on our platform.
For younger children or children with special needs who may need a calmer or more gentle experience, put aside some time at the beginning or end of the event where they can donate a small entry fee to play on the bouncy castle in smaller numbers without the competitive element, and with their carer or a supervising member of staff accompanying them if needed.
2. Easter arts and crafts
An Easter arts and crafts afternoon is another fun event for children of all ages. Provide a range of art and craft supplies for older children to let their imagination and creativity shine. For younger children, provide some Easter bunny and egg templates for them to colour in and decorate if they need a little more guidance. For some extra fun and friendly competition, you can give out some prizes for the most unique and fun Easter creations.
3. Bunny Bingo
Perfect for children and their parents, this is a fun game that can be played in person or virtually for a more covid-safe option. Participants donate an entry fee, and you can host several rounds with different themes and prizes fit for Easter, such as chocolate eggs or Easter decorations.
4. Easter raffle
Raffles are a great way to raise funds when you are short on time. Organise some specific times for pupils to buy tickets, or – to make it even easier and remove the need for you to manage and store cash, and to give you the chance to collect Gift Aid – ask parents to donate on our website by a specific deadline and charge a set amount per raffle ticket (e.g. 50p). Once the deadline has passed, assign the correct number of raffle tickets per person according to the amount they have donated.
The raffle winners announcement is another event than can be done in person or virtually to make it more covid-safe.
5. Easter cake sale
An easy fundraising option that can be held on its own or paired with one of our other fundraising ideas above. Invite your community to bake some delicious Easter treats for a bake sale to raise funds for your cause. For some extra fun, include a ‘bake off’ element and give out prizes for winners of a few different categories, such as most Easter themed, most creative, most unique, and more. To be allergy-safe, we recommend noting the ingredients of all entries and not including nuts if your school is nut-free.
